Overview

ClapCamera ("we", "our", or "the app") is a hands-free camera application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy is written in plain language so you know exactly what's happening.

Information We Do Not Collect

ClapCamera does not collect, store, transmit, or share:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• Photos or videos taken within the app
• Audio recordings or voice data
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Crash logs or error reports sent to third parties

Camera Access

ClapCamera requires access to your iPhone's camera to display a live preview and capture photos. This is the core function of the app.

• Camera access is only active while the app is open and in the foreground
• Photos are saved directly to your device's Camera Roll via the iOS photo library
• No images are transmitted to any server or third-party service
• We never access photos already in your library

You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → ClapCamera.

Microphone Access

ClapCamera requires microphone access to detect the sound of a clap. This is used exclusively for the hands-free trigger feature.

• The microphone is only active while the app is open and clap detection is enabled
• Audio is analyzed on-device in real time — it is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere
• No voice data, ambient sound, or audio content is retained after analysis
• The app does not use the microphone in the background

You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → ClapCamera. The app will still function as a standard timer camera without it.

In-App Purchases

ClapCamera offers optional premium features through Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple.

• We do not receive or store your payment information
• Purchase receipts are verified locally on your device using Apple's StoreKit APIs
• Apple's privacy policy governs all payment and purchase data

Local Storage

The app stores a small amount of data locally on your device. This includes:

• Your selected settings (timer duration, burst count, flash mode, etc.)
• A daily usage counter for free-tier session limits
• Premium purchase status (verified with Apple)

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Third-Party Services

ClapCamera does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or similar tools
• Facebook SDK or Meta Audience Network
• Crash reporting services (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
• Any advertising networks

The only external connection the app makes is to Apple's servers for in-app purchase validation, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

ClapCamera is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data from any users, there is no risk of collecting children's data.

Data Security

Because ClapCamera does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no server-side data to secure. All app data remains on your device under iOS's standard sandboxing and security protections.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. You control all data by managing the app on your device.

To remove all locally stored app preferences, simply delete the app from your iPhone.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
